Penguins of South Georgia

South Georgia is home to three breeding species of penguin:

500,000 pairs of King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus)

105,000 pairs of Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua)

6,000 pairs of Chinstrap Penguin (Pygoscelis antarctica)
