Penguins of the South Orkney Islands

The South Orkney Islands are home to three breeding species of penguin:

600,000 pairs of Chinstrap Penguin (Pygoscelis antarctica)

200,000 pairs of Adelie Penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae)

11,000 pairs of Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua)
