Penguins of the Prince Edward Islands

The Prince Edward Islands are home to four breeding species of penguin:

400,000 pairs of Macaroni Penguin (Eudyptes chrysolophus)

220,000 pairs of King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus)

170,000 pairs of Eastern Rockhopper Penguin (Eudyptes chrysocome)

1,500 pairs of Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua)
